Here at Brookhaven in the Northern Rivers of NSW we breed both standard and miniature Belted Galloways “Belties”, and we have the full colour range: black, red and dun.

We also have a herd of block /solid colour Galloways: white, black, red and dun and most of these sit in the “miniature” category, mostly white and yes also in the total cuteness category!

More than the size, we believe temperament is by far the most important ingredient and we found that Galloways are a wonderful addition to any farm, whether diversifying a herd, adding new genetics or on smaller properties helping to keep the grass down. Regardless, they always look so beautiful out on a paddock!

We have also been on regenerative farming journey. Whilst it is not always easy, and farming comes with a string of continual challenges, it keeps us focused to continually strive for long term benefits of good soil health, human health, biodiversity and to always treat our herds with humanity and respect.

We absolutely love caring for our whole Galloway herd. We enjoy breeding and raising them, totally spoiling them and finding good, kind homes for them.

    The Heart & Head of Byron Belties. When she's not ‘over-feeding’ her cows she’s ‘over-feeding’ her dog, Ollie. Seriously though, there's not much she wouldn't do for her much loved Galloways

    Our Farm Manager is the reason the place functions. His lifetime of farming and trained technical skills mean he is the head honcho of problem solving…..Daily!

  • Ruby

    Studying a Bachelor of Science with a major in Regenerative Agriculture, and a background in Natural Horsemanship, our lucky cows and calves get her first class attention

  • Ollie

    Part of the team but most likely to be sleeping inside the house when the going gets tough. He has big dreams of being head of security
